About the author

After 40 + years in a sales career, (some of those in management at large insurers, the last 33 in sales at a large brokerage), there isn't much I haven't experienced or had to deal with when challenged. In sales it can feel like there is a secret decoder ring the successful are wearing, but you haven't found yet despite dedicated hard effort. And no one is willing to give you a clue where to find it. Or you feel like a misfit to the role - that perhaps you are too nice, or too quiet, to be any good at this. All those fears and confusion, thrills and excitement, great victories and loss anxieties, they are part of the process and life in sales I too experienced.
Long sales careers take plenty of learning and grinding, mixed with the great pleasure of helping others. It was a tremendously satisfying career for me but only because I found a method that suited me – not aggressive or manipulative but gentler and client-centred, and highly effective. It is (partially) located in the Quoin Principle, (pronounced coin), the slower more methodical method of selling done right.
It is now time to share this unique combination of sales philosophies, concepts and skills, and the reason Unfurl Your Sales was written. Perhaps what took decades to develop and worked so well for me, might be just the thing for you too. I sincerely hope so.
